“Lobster” by Ken Gill (b. 1939)
“Lobster” by Ken Gill (b.1939)
Oil on canvas: 16 x 20 in. (41 x 51 cm.)
Painted 1995
Inscribed verso: ‘To Christian, Many thanks 19/8/1995 Ken’
Fantastic original painting by the Scottish-born, Newlyn-based artist Ken Gill.
Lovely impasto, which perfectly captures the sharp textures of the lobster’s shell. The painting is in superb condition and unframed (there’s a loop already installed so it’s ready to hang).
Apparently gifted to a ‘Christian’ in 1995, as suggested in the inscription to the reverse of the canvas.
This painting looks very at home in the kitchen or, if you’re lucky enough to live by the sea, beside a window overlooking a seascape.
